Stephen Ministry:

Stephen Ministry is now a not-for-profit Christian educational organization based in St. Louis, Missouri .  Log on to their website or call (314) 428-2600.

Lectionary:

The Vanderbilt Library provide the lectionary: the three-year set of Bible readings. The link provided to their web site gives the Bible reading for the of the church year.

Sacred Space:

The Irish Jesuits offer daily prayer online ... "Sacred Space".

Prayer
ELCA web site:

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) web site has good prayer section.  When you arrive at the ELCA Devotion site where might you go?  It is suggested that you click "Devotions" and then click "Daily Bible reading".  Choose a portion of that text to read by looking it up in your own Bible or copying and paste to a WORD document.  When you have that text then go to Meditation and click "Meditation" and follow the invitation that is given.

Another option when you are on the front page is to click "Resources".  On the page that appears you can read about different practices under "Ways to Pray".

Another option further down on that page there is a section called "Prayers".  It provides a variety of ways to engage praying.

Taize'

The Taizé   (tay-ZAY´ ) prayer form is both personal and ecumenical, a format that crosses cultural and denominational lines. 

The prayer form dates from 1940 when Roger Louis Schutz-Marsauche, a 25 year-old Lutheran later known as Brother Roger, came to the small village of Taizé in the Burgundy region of France, dreaming of starting an ecumenical community for contemplation and reconciliation of Christians of all faiths.

In the Taizé service, there is some scripture reading, much simple singing of chants, and time for meditation.  Candles are used to help us focus our thoughts. 

Taize' services are held during Advent & Lent.
